Artist's Description
This print captures HUGO BOSS (GBR99) taking part in the 2013 Round The Island Race, Isle of Wight. The Hugo Boss Open 60's year of construction was in 2009 and it was first launched on 18th May 2010. It's main skipper is Alex Thomson. 60-foot monohulls, like Hugo Boss, are among the fastest modern racing monohulls. Built using composite materials, they are designed to be as light as possible (speed gains) while at the same time being solid enough to withstand the worst conditions you can find when racing on the open seas.
The painting is based on a photograph by well-known sports photographer Alex Irwin.
